Elcomsoft Internet Password Breaker 3.20 extracts Yandex Browser, Tencent QQ and UC Browser passwords

Elcomsoft Internet Password Breaker 3.20 adds the ability to extract stored passwords from the newest versions of Yandex Browser, Tencent QQ and UC Browser. Yandex Browser is Russia’s second most popular desktop Web browser based on usage with some 17.2 per cent of the market, while QQ Browser in China floats around the 10% mark.

Elcomsoft Internet Password Breaker receives an update to add compatibility with the newest additions to the Web browser family. This release introduces support for the latest versions of Yandex Browser, one of the most popular desktop Web browsers in Russia, and Tencent QQ Browser, one of the China’s most popular Web browsers.

Yandex Browser

Yandex Browser is Russia’s second most popular desktop Web browser based on usage. According to Statcounter, Yandex’s Web browser occupies a share of 17.2 per cent of the Russian desktop browser market; way ahead of the Chromium-based Microsoft Edge with its share of 7.6 per cent of the global market. Yandex Browser gets ahead of Mozilla Firefox and Opera browsers with their respective shares of approximately 7.5 of the Russian market.

Thanks to using the same engine as Google Chrome, Yandex is offering a robust cross-platform usage experience. Favorites, browsing history, open tabs and, most importantly, stored passwords are just a few features of the browser to mention.

Elcomsoft Internet Password Breaker 3.20 was updated to support the latest encryption scheme employed in the latest versions of Yandex Browser. Prior to this release, only legacy versions of Yandex Browser were supported with older, now deprecated encryption scheme.

Tencent QQ and UC Browser

QQ Browser is one of China’s most popular Web browsers. With some 10% of the Chinese market, QQ Browser is used by the millions. Like many of its competitors, QQ Browser offers the ability to store website passwords. The passwords are securely encrypted, and can be only accessed once the user signs into their Windows account.

UC Browser is another Chinese Web browser, albeit mostly common on mobile devices. The browser is developed by UCWeb, a subsidiary of the Alibaba Group. It is one of the most popular mobile browsers in China, India, and Indonesia. While primarily a mobile app, UC Browser is also offered as a Windows desktop version.

With this update, Elcomsoft Internet Password Breaker 3.20 can instantly extract stored passwords from the latest versions of popular browsers and email clients. This includes the latest versions of Google Chrome, legacy and current versions of Yandex Browser, QQ Browser, UC Browser, Mozilla Firefox, both versions of Microsoft Edge (universal and Chromium-based), as well as Microsoft Internet Explorer, Opera. Popular email clients such as Windows Mail (Windows 10), Microsoft Outlook and Thunderbird are also supported.
