We've just discovered and implemented a method allowing us to decrypt the content of BlackBerry Password Keeper instantly, without performing lengthy attacks on the master password. In addition, we built tools for extracting iCloud authentication tokens straight into the user interface, getting rid of cumbersome command line tools used in the previous version.

In our research, we've discovered a way to decrypt the content of BlackBerry Password Keeper in a matter of seconds — without having to attack or recover the master password. Since BlackBerry Password Keeper uses an escrow key to encrypt the container, and the escrow key is stored in BlackBerry 10 backups alongside the data, we were able to make use of that security flaw to provide instant decryption of some of the most sensitive information. Did you know an average folk has more than 30 online accounts? It's not surprising why password manager apps have millions of active users. In this release, Elcomsoft Phone Breaker can attack the master password protecting 1Password containers downloaded from Dropbox or obtained from iTunes or iCloud backups. What else is new? We moved away from using command-line tools to locate and extract binary authentication tokens protecting access to iCloud accounts. The new release of Elcomsoft Phone Breaker integrates these tools into the user interface, making using iCloud authentication much easier than before. In addition, we made some low-level changes to our password recovery algorithms, making attacks significantly faster when using NVIDIA boards.
