Determining patch status
Previous  Top  Next

Patch status is determined based on file versions checking and registry keys presence. There are 3 possible patch statuses:

·Installed

The patch corresponding to this bulletin is installed. All files have required or greater versions, and all required registry keys are present (alternatively, you may tell PSA to ignore registry keys if all file versions are okay, see Preferences).

·Missing

The patch corresponding to this bulletin is NOT installed. Either some file versions are lower than required, or some registry keys are missing. To determine the exact reason, you may open the Details... window (using appropriate item in popup menu, or simply by double-clicking on the selected item) and activate the Changes tab. There is list of affected files and registry keys there; the files and keys which match the current bulletin are marked with '+' sign, ones that do not match — with '-' sign.

·Note

This is a special status. It means that PSA was not able to determine whether the patch is installed or not. This is not due to PSA error, but because the mssecure.xml file contains no information about affected files and/or registry keys for this bulletin.
