Comparison result window

When comparing two snapshots one is marked First and the other is marked Second. When the comparison operation is finished, a result window is displayed that has three (or fewer) trees.

"In First Only - xx" - This shows only those keys and values that are in the first snapshot of the registry, but were not found in the second. These keys are marked with a yellow bulb yelbulb and all their subkeys are marked with a gray bulb grybulb.
Keys marked with a green bulb grnbulb are listed in the second snapshot as well as the first, but they contain different Value Names. Only Value Names not found in the second snapshot are shown here. Subkeys that are the same are not shown.
xx - This is the number of keys and value names missing in the second snapshot compared to the first

Icons showing the data type look similar to the icons in the Registry Editor, except the digital type is divided into the three subtypes: 1 - Double word; 2 - Binary; 3 - Multi size. The number is in the bottom-right corner of each icon.

A similar notation system is used in the second tree ("In Second Only - xx") . The only difference is that the Keys and Value Names listed in the second snapshot are those that are not found in the first tree.

The third tree ("Distinction in data - xx") lists only differences in Value Data. In this tree the xx is the total number of pairs where differences in Value Data were found. The Keys where such differences were found are marked with a green bulb grnbulb. The data with the same Value Names are shown in columns and marked with the digits 1 or 2 for the first and second snapshot respectively.

If the check box Open selected key in other tree is check marked in Settings | Comparison then when you switch trees, the same key that was selected in the first tree is opened in the second (provided it exists in the second).

You can run a case sensitive or insensitive comparison by checking or unchecking the Case sensitive box. This option works for a Key and Value Name, but not work for Value Data. Comparison of Value Data is always case-sensitive.
By right-clicking a key and choosing in the context menu (depending on the active tree) either Locate in First locold or Locate in Second locnew, you can display the corresponding source Key in the main window.

By double-clicking on a data string the Copy Value window appears, where you can copy the Value Name and the Value Data.
