About Password Cache

The Password Cache is a dedicated storage designed to keep all passwords discovered with AOPR. The entries are stored in the Unicode format to support international character sets. To prevent unauthorized access the password cache itself can be protected by a password. If you specify a password, the Password Cache file will be encrypted with RC4. A SHA-1 hash will be stored in the file header.

The Password Cache is used in the Preliminary Attack. When a Document Password cannot be recovered instantly AOPR checks the Password Cache first.

The default file name for the password cache is aopr.pwc. You can Manage Password Cache Files in the "Password Cache" tab.
