Tweaks

Tweak means to set a system or separate program with the help of the registry. They are usually represented as REG files or some lines in an equivalent syntax. Examples of tweaks are in the Tweaks directory.

If you have a tweak as a REG file (or text with equivalent syntax) ART will help you swiftly and safely inspect the state of the keys and values of your registry that are defined in the tweak (currently this is possible only on a local computer). Then if you want to change this state to that represented in the tweak you can do so and the previous state is automatically saved in ART's database.

The most convenient way:
1.Go to the Import importbut window.
2.Select the tweak from the REG file or copy it from the clipboard.
3.Check mark "Import as tweak" and press the button Import & Compare.

ART imports the tweak into its database by placing it as a separate snapshot (which has the current date) in the Tweaks tree. Then ART scans the registry for keys related to the tweak, places any found as a snapshot and then compares the two snapshots.
In the Comparison results window the tweak will correspond to the Old snapshot and values of your registry will correspond to the New snapshot (see Comparison result).
The Comparison results window will appear if the tweak and your current registry do not match in keys or values.
If there were lines of comments in an imported file or text they will be added to the snapshot's comment automatically, which you can edit later. If there are no comment lines we suggest you create the screenshot comments manually.

4. If you want your registry values to correspond to the tweak values use the button Undo into Registry! undo

Keep in mind that any registry changes must be well thought out!

If you want to restore previous registry values you have to repeat the same comparison, but perform the Redo operation:
1.Select any branch of the tweak in the main window of the program (in the Tweaks tree) and click the Compare cmp1 button. In the Comparison window's First Node field will be the date that matches the tweak you chose. Select the filter "Filtered by first node".
2.The Second Node field will list all the snapshots (scans) that were made with the chosen tweak. Select a snapshot that interests you and start the comparison process by pressing the OK button.
3.In the results window click the button "Redo into Registry!" redo and your registry will revert to its previous state before the use of the tweak.

If a tweak was already imported into ART's database you can compare it with the current registry. The first step is the same, but on the second step—in the Second Node pull down—select Registry.
If you don't like the results of the tweak you can easily revert it by using Undo into Registry! undo.
