| To successfully scan a remote machine's Registry, both machines (local and remote) must be correctly configured. Consult the User Manual for each machine's Operating System. For NT, Windows 2000 and XP you must have Administrator privileges on the remote machine.

| A criterion of correct configuration is being able to access the remote machine's Registry from RegEdit or Regedt32.

| Warning! The functions Undo and Redo work only on the local machineif you use either function on a remote computer, all changes will be done to the local machine!

| It is possible to use a logfile while scanning. If a logfile is used, all error messages are saved to the logfile instead of being displayed on the screen, which could save you time by not having to read and respond to each message. This might be helpful with Registry scanning under NT, 2000 and XP when many keys are not permitted to be read and warning messages appear.

| A logfile can be specified on the External Editor & Logfile tab in the menu Edit | Settings.
